WHO WE ARE

We are Just 2 Chicks Trying to Get it Done.  In 2010, me, a burned out banker joined forces with my legendary real estate broker mom and we became a mother daughter duo with a passion to grow and revitalize our hometown.

WHAT WE DO

While, our bread and butter is flipping houses, our passion is the renaissance of our town. We believe real estate, culture and commerce all play a critical role and we are active in each area.

• Real Estate: We have renovated over 50 neglected homes, developed infill urban housing and rehabbed dilapidated historic buildings. 

• Culture: We dreamed up the idea and commissioned 5 artists from across the state to paint a “drive by art museum”.  The first public art of its kind in our community (West 31st Street Murals).  This was our first of what we hope to be many unique attractions to entice people back to our home town.

• Commerce: We purchased and operate a 30 year old Main Street bakery to help ensure its lasting success in our hometown. (Kolache Capital).

WHY WE DO IT

I am a fourth generation resident of my home town.  My great grandparents were poor Italian immigrates that settled here. I grew up with my parents’ stories of a vibrant downtown where everyone gathered for commerce, community and entertainment.

That was not the story of our town when I grew up. Downtown was full of boarded up buildings and once-upon-a-time stories. Very much a “Disney Cars” storyline.  About 10 years ago our city officials planted the seeds that made a revival possible. They invested money in beautiful hardscape, technology infrastructure and established a downtown association.  The merchants slowly started opening shops and restaurants, creating a sense of destination. 

Now it is our turn to add rocket fuel to the fire by providing diverse and loved urban housing.  We want to blaze a trail into an urban frontier.  Bryan, Texas is a town with a rich history and it is our hope that my children will share stories with their grandchildren of a vibrant hometown full of life and community.
